OverviewThe aims of this book - which is published in Spanish - are to provide a control edition for the canonical version of Calderon's masterpiece ""La Vida es Sueno"" (Life's a Dream), and to trace the whole textual history of the play from its inception to the middle of the 19th century. The introduction offers an analysis of the transmission of the text in the 17th- and 18th centuries and offers a descriptive catalogue of all extant editions of the play up to the 1830s. As such, this work combines textual criticism and the provision of a critical edition with bibliographical support.
