She grew up in a small town in Massachusetts and attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. There she earned a degree in film writing. As a writer and screenwriter, she says she uses her career as an excuse to read too many books and watch too many movies. The Red Queen is her literary debut and the first part of a tetralogy. The film rights to the series have been acquired by Universal Pictures.
