OverviewThe study analyzes the influence of Catholicism on political and civic life of Mexico with a specific emphasis on Guadalajara in the nineties. The essay studies the impact Catholicism had on the different catholic lay movements and how this influenced the processes of local democratization, political transition, and in the participation and movement of the organized citizenship.
