Creció en el Barrio La Mineral en Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, y a menudo encuentra inspiración para sus relatos en esas entrañables experiencias de la niñez en Borikén.""Las ilustraciones son mi humilde intento de un estilo único de linograbado. Son un guiño a los influyentes carteles y libros del gobierno de Puerto Rico (Libros para el Pueblo) de DIVEDCO (años 50-60)-incluyendo obras de artistas como Rafael Tufiño y Lorenzo Homar, a quienes respeto y admiro mucho-y también a los clásicos libros de cuentos de hadas que disfruté de niño.""Osuba cree que es esencial enseñar a los niños el valor de preservar la cultura y de destacar la belleza y positividad diaria que nos rodea.
