Overview

This work provides an extensive philological commentary on Seneca's ""Troades"". Its main purpose is to elaborate on the meaning of the single words, and to offer further insight into their history and usage. In this text, comparisons are made with Senecan prose and works of other poets. In addition, the commentary addresses word order, textual, metrical, grammatical, and compositional difficulties.

Atze J. Keulen, Ph.D. in Classics at the University of Groningen, published a school edition of the play with Brill in 1971 and a metrical Frisian translation in 1995.
