Author Information

Briony Stewart is the author and illustrator of several award-winning books for children, including the Kumiko series and We Love You Magoo, which was a CBCA Early Childhood Honour Book for 2020. She was also the illustrator of Mina and the Whole Wide World, which won the 2022 Prime Minister's Literary Award for Children's Fiction. Inspired by her grandmother, Kumiko Stewart (nee Takata), Briony is delighted that the Kumiko series has received so much love from Australian children since its first publication. Briony continues to make books from her home studio in Fremantle, Western Australia, alongside a silly dog, two cheeky children and a plant-obsessed husband.
