Overview

Voici l'histoire Kristof, un ancien conte breton, pre-christianisation, retracant l'histoire de la ville d'Is a travers ce personnage. Ce texte fut traduit par Amable-Emmanuel Troude en 1870 a la demande de Gabriel Milin. Il est remit au gout du jour un 2021 par Olivier Le Gal. Is, parfois appelee Ker Ys (Ker-Is en breton), est une ville legendaire de Bretagne, qui aurait ete engloutie par l'ocean. Probablement issue d'un theme celtique autour de la femme de l'Autre Monde, la legende de la ville d'Ys est tres nettement christianisee. Le seul element originel qui en subsiste est le personnage de Dahut aussi nomme Ahez en breton.
