English summary: With its variety of different approaches communication theory is one of the main areas of research in early modern history writing. Processes of communication are constructing political and social interrelations. Although they legitimize symbolical orders or question them. In a European and global context the British-Hanoverian personal union (1714-1837) constituted an example for this kind of communications. The communication approach with theoretical and methodical questions in the areas of communication practice, the political communication and the scientific communication provides a structure for the topic communication in the age of personal union and likewise allows to discuss recent scientific topics. German description: Kommunikation ist in ihrer Vielfalt an theoretisch-methodischen Ansatzen inzwischen eine zentrale Kategorie der Fruhneuzeitforschung. Kommunikative Prozesse konstruieren politische und soziale Zusammenhange, bereiten deren Aushandlung vor, ermoglichen und stellen symbolische Ordnungen infrage oder legitimieren sie. Im europaischen und globalen Kontext bildete die britisch-hannoversche Personalunion einen wirkmachtigen Rahmen fur solche kommunikativen Handlungen und Prozesse. Durch die themenubergreifende Auseinandersetzung mit theoretischen und methodologischen Fragestellungen in den Bereichen der Kommunikationspraktiken, der politischen Kommunikation sowie der Wissenskommunikation stehen drei Aspekte im Mittelpunkt des Bandes, die sowohl eine Strukturierung des Themenkomplexes Kommunikation im Zeitalter der Personalunion als auch die Diskussion und Erweiterung aktueller Forschungsgegenstande ermoglichen.
