Have you ever wondered what it might have been like to live at a remote Hudson's Bay Company Trading Post? KOMATIK chronicles my very 'out of the ordinary' way of life on the Lower North Shore / Labrador at a time when dog teams were the primary means of travel in winter. Where summers were short but full of life and adventure. My formative years there can best be described as a childhood dream! There have been many occasions throughout the years when circumstances were such that I recalled how it used to be back then and I longed to return to my youth. Instead, as it should be, the past is left to reflection and the mulling of treasured memories, too important to forget, impossible to repeat.
