OverviewAs the name indicates, KOINON is a journal that encourages contributions to the study of classical numismatics from a wide variety of perspectives. The journal includes papers concerning iconography, die studies, provenance research, forgery analysis, translations of excerpts from antiquarian works, specialized bibliographies, corpora of rare varieties and types, ethical questions on laws and collecting, book reviews, and more. The editorial advisory board is made up of members from all over the world, with a broad range of expertise covering virtually all the major categories of classical numismatics from archaic Greek coinage to late Medieval coinage. Molinari, PhD, is an academic librarian and Adjunct Professor of Philosophy. His interests are classical numismatics, ancient philosophy, and ancient religion, and in particular the Greek deity Acheloios and his foreign counterparts. He is the co-author, with Dr. Nicola Sisci, of Potamikon: Sinews of Acheloios. A Comprehensive Catalog of the Bronze Coinage of the Man-Faced Bull, with Essays on Origin and Identity (Oxford: Archaeopress, 2016). He is currently preparing a new book that demonstrates the influence of Acheloios on Thales of Miletos, which was the subject of his doctoral dissertation.
