OverviewTommy Buttertin is different from the other kids in Griddle-earth. He does not talk. He might not look you in the eyes, and he relies on structure and routine to get through the day. But like his brother, Chris, and most other kids, he'll do almost anything for a tall stack of pancakes smothered in sweet, gooey syrup. Tommy and Chris share a dream: to become knights, just like their father. When King Greasworth invites Chris to begin training for knighthood, the brothers are overjoyed, until the king tells them that Tommy will never be strong enough to be a knight. Chris knows that Tommy is just as capable and brave as any knight could be, he just needs a chance to prove it to himself and to everyone else. Tommy's chance comes more quickly than expected when their city, Stove's Landing, is threatened by an Ice Dragon. With the rest of Stove's Landing encased in ice, Tommy, with the help of I-doll and Chris, must travel to the edge of Griddle-earth, slay the Icy Beast, save the kingdom, and prove himself once and for all. Table of ContentsReviews5 Stars from 2024 Readers' Favorite ""-it's the themes of Knights, Pancakes & Dragons that take the story from cute to heartwarming. Family, love, and friendship are clear subthemes, which highlight the main themes of diversity and inclusion. Tommy is unique, but the Fire Queen and King Greasworth dismiss the power of that. The Fire Queen doesn't believe Tommy is a threat and King Greasworth sees Tommy as a liability. But Tommy, a boy whose family and best friend believe in and include him, is a hero. This is a fun story for early to middle-grade readers."" Author InformationTab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
