OverviewMany families keep pets varying from fish, birds and reptiles to mammals, the most common being cats and dogs. The author's family had cats and dogs as pets for nearly forty years. They were struck by the unique character of each of several Siamese cats and the contrasting temperaments of their German Shepherd and Rough Collie dogs. The author has attempted to get inside the heads of three of the pets, two cats and a dog, and to imagine what their thoughts and feelings may have been. Each of the three stories covers a different period of time in the family's history with some overlap.
