Author Information

Mary Durack (1913–1994) grew up on the Argyle and Ivanhoe stations in the East Kimberleys in Western Australia and became a prolific writer. In her best-known book, Kings in Grass Castles, she details her grandfather's epic journey in the 1890s across Australia in order to establish pastoral stations in WA. Mary was honoured with The Order of the British Empire for her service to literature in 1977. Jenny Seedsman has worked extensively in theatre, radio and television in productions ranging from Greek tragedy to modern Australian drama. She has been narrating audiobooks since 1986 and her narration of Kings in Grass Castles won the 1997 TDK Audio Book Award for Bolinda audio.
