"This volume is a verse-by-verse study of the Book of I Timothy. The Epistles to Timothy and Titus occupy a very important place in the New Testament, and without them there would be a void in the volume of inspiration. The instructions we get from this letter relate mainly ""to the office of the ministry."" They are comprehensive in regard to the offices of the Church, the qualifications for them, and the duties that arise from them. They are designed to direct Timothy in the work to which they were specifically appointed. But the counsel extends by design to the ministry in every age and in every land. The offices of ministry are so important to the Church that the Holy Ghost has left us full instructions in the Holy Scriptures regarding their nature and design. The Pastoral Epistles are the repository for these treasures, and there is no part of the New Testament that the Church could less afford to lose to religious humanism and neo-evangelicalism than the Epistles to Timothy and Titus."
