King Jesus Literal Version: Analytical Interlinear New Testament with Byzantine Text and Concise Translation Notes

Overview

You have King James, but do you really need King Jesus? Rather than offering just one more English translation, the KJLV instead offers a uniquely accessible, four-pronged analysis of the New Testament on a verse-by-verse basis: 1) The Patriarchal Text of 1904, a Byzantine Greek text, 2) The most obtusely literal English interlinear ever, 3) 18,000+ succinct notations on idioms, definitions and grammar, 4) The first translation which slaughters readability on the altar of precision. Quick Research: Being devoid of footnotes and endnotes, the KJLV places every notation immediately above or below the translation of the verse to which it refers, enabling teachers and students of the New Testament to analyze important facets of each verse without searching for notes or opening additional books. The English herein is not the word of God: Like any translation, it can only offer an imperfect reflection of the inspired autographs. The KJLV claims no supremacy over other translations, but this version differs from the norm by requiring its readers to slowly wrestle through each statement of our Lord and His apostles. In regard to legibility, this translation is inferior to all others by far. Enabling readers to interpret: The KJLV admits that the art of translation often requires a degree of subjective interpretation, due to differences between Greek and other languages. The format of this interlinear and its notations should enable the reader to disagree with the KJLV wording while still seeing how this translator reached his own conclusions. Come, let us obey and glorify King Jesus, carefully considering His choice of words and the manner in which His apostles communicated.

Reviews

"""Translating one language into another is not only challenging, but by nature is very subjective and editorial. This is especially true when the writer and the new audience are separated by millennia of time and worlds of culture, and the translator wants the new audience to understand both the words and the meaning of the original writer. In the KJLV, Matthew Bryan has labored long and hard to minimize the subjective, editorial aspect of this process, presenting the actual Greek text and also attempting to be as literal as possible with his interlinear translation of the Greek. That gives readers a greater degree of both the privilege and the responsibility of wrestling with the text themselves. Bryan offers his own (still very literal) translation of the Greek as an aid. But his approach shows genuine trust that the Holy Spirit can teach each saint who would 'hasten to present [himself/herself] approved in God, an unrecoiling worker, straightly-cutting the word of the Truth' (2 Tim. 2:15). The KJLV is a valuable tool for such study and has become one of my primary go-to resources in the study of God's word. It is a treasure for which I am truly grateful!"" -Matt Weaver"

Author Information

"Formerly a church planter, a teaching elder and an international conference leader, Matthew Bryan has assailed the status quo of unnecessary division in church culture, prayerlessness, and pornography addiction. Bryan is a contributor to Conciliar Post and the author of five books including the groundbreaking work ""Forgotten Gospel,"" which offers detailed research and clarification of the ""Gospel of the Kingdom"" as Jesus and the New Testament writers uniformly proclaimed it, not as a sales pitch for heaven by agreeing to a doctrine, but as the good news of God's Anointed King and Kingdom which conquers the authority of sin, demonic power, and death. Bryan has also compiled, edited, and translated several additional works which include ""30 Day Prayer School,"" ""The Weekly Psalter"" and ""Prayer Every Hour from Scripture."""
