Overview"One of a series of books that use the letters in a child's name or a familiar noun to make new words, offering a fun learning experience for inquisitive children aged 4 to 8. Each book in the series incorporates color, poetry, humor, illustrations, and even some geographical and foreign-language references. Each page is self-contained and offers a nugget of information or a humorous situation that is intended to stimulate discussion between adult and child. The books with a child's name in the title will be enjoyed by a toddler learning to recognize his or her own name in writing, as well as colors and common objects. For older children, the books will broaden reading and language skills, as well as teach interesting and fun facts about the world. Thus these books will be relevant for longer than the typical children's book. Adult participation is strongly encouraged; adults can and do learn new things from the ""Makes Words!"" series of books!"
