Overview

Jimmy knew at an early age that he had special powers. He figured that out pretty quickly when he touched poor Frankie Malone, who ended up flying fifty yards across the playground during a simple game of tag in the first grade. Once he learned that he came from a family of superheroes, Jimmy was eager to battle for justice. He would get the chance to join the Explorers, a superhero group made up of fellow students from Hudson, to battle the evil Dr. Nasty and his Legion of Trouble. However, Jimmy would have more to do than simply fight evil and save Wendy, Hudson's beautiful homecoming queen, who was kidnapped along with other students by Dr. Nasty. Jimmy would have to spend as much time saving his brother, Chuck. Chuck, who mistakenly thought he was a superhero, and who seemed to have a major crush on every girl at Hudson, got himself into a number of predicaments. It just goes to show that it's not easy being a kid superhero, even for somebody like Kid Terrific.

Kevin Travis has been an award-winning journalist for over twenty years, mainly as a sports writer/editor. He lives in St. Louis with his beautiful wife and best friend, Allison, step-daughter, Katherine, and two dogs, Thor and Tasha. Born in Ohio, where he graduated from Hudson High School and then Bowling Green State University, Travis moved to North Carolina in 2000. Travis wrote his first non-fiction piece for his fourth book. Gold and Glory: The Lauren Perdue Story, is a book about Olympic gold medalist Lauren Perdue. It shows how Perdue overcame a serious back injury that threatened her career to achieve her dream of swimming in the Olympics. Her faith played a huge part in her success. Kid Terrific: Kid Superhero! is his fifth book. He used the names of several high school classmates in the book.
