After a career as a high school teacher, she decided, in 1990, to become a professional artist. She had four successful solo exhibitions of her work, then in 1997 opened her own art gallery in Ravenshoe, North Queensland, which she operated until 2017. Her work has been represented in a number of art magazines, including ""International Artist"", and she has been a finalist four times in the competitions of ""Australian Artist"". Since selling her gallery, she has turned to writing. In addition to the books onher art, she has published a book of poems and stories, and four novels. See her web site, www.winsart.com.
