Dr. Elizabeth Townsend Gard is a Professor of Law in intellectual property at Tulane University Law School and a Lepage Faculty Fellow at the A.B. Freeman School of Business, Tulane University. Elizabeth began researching the intersection of quilting and copyright, which turned into a podcast, with over 300 interviews of industry, famous quilters, inventors, lawyers, and a community, known as the Quilting Army. For more information, go to www.justwannaquilt.com Ricardo A. Gonzalez is the Just Wanna Series Editor, comprised of Legal DIY resources for quilters, artists, and crafters. His background is both science, craft and the law. He earned his Masters in Biology from Mississippi College and his BA from the University of Texas at Arlington. He earned his J.D. from Tulane University Law School, where his focus was on both the science and art side of intellectual property law. He brought his scientific scrutiny to key research projects focused on libraries and copyright, and was one of the founders of the Just Wanna Quilt project, looking at the intersection of industry, invention, creativity, and community. He is dedicated to providing legal tools and resources to both inventors and artists.
