Roxanne is a now-retired teacher who experienced a side of Iran that most people never see. She describes her life as it intersects with the Middle East during some of the most turbulent times in the Iran-Iraq war. She met and married an Iranian man only one month before the Iranian hostage crisis in America, lived in Iran from 1984 to 1988 during the war, and witnessed firsthand the aftermath of several bombings. Her husband developed cancer and died in the most famous mosque in Iran, hours after their ninth anniversary, and experienced one of the largest funeral processions for a civilian. This is the true story of the life and experiences she had living there.
