Juntos: Living with Alzheimer's

Overview

A loving window into the life of a Latinx/e/o family's shared experience with Alzheimer's, written by a first-generation Nicaraguan American author and educator. Young Silvio hears, ""your abuelitos are sick,"" and like so many of us, his heart starts to race. With the help of their parents, he and his siblings unpack their feelings and recognize what's within their control. Their familia spends a day with their abuelitos, finding ways to care for them and each other. Juntos: Living with Alzheimer's partners with readers to explore a heavy topic while providing helpful examples of how to unpack feelings and support loved ones. With tug-at-your-heartstrings illustrations, Juntos: Living with Alzheimer's provides readers of all ages ways to engage with one another after receiving an Alzheimer's diagnosis. Silvio José Delgado, M.Ed. and Rachel Stotler have come together to pay tribute to the complexities of family and learning to face challenges with love.
