Overview

In June we review the essential truths of our Christian faith. The Feast of the Ascension is June 2. Jesus appears to the Apostles a third time to fortify them for a life of ministry. He ascends to Heaven as they watch. The Feast of Pentecost on June 9 marks the birthday of the Church. The Holy Spirit descends from Heaven like tongues of fire onto the Apostles. The Feast of the Most Holy Trinity on June 16 calls us to reaffirm our belief of one God in three persons: Father, Son, Holy Spirit. At the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ on June 23 we are reminded of the Last Supper when Jesus established the New Covenant with the disciples. We remember Jesus in the celebration of the Eucharist. We return to Ordinary Time on June 30. We are called to share the Good News: God so loved the world that He sent His only son to us. Whoever believes in Him will have life everlasting.
