My 8th book has just been published. I called it ""Juliana Carver - The Stoic Little Girl."" I typed the title out on a word document, in large font, and taped it to my wall where it stayed for several years before I wrote the book. As our youngest daughter, Juliana, was fighting war after war against pediatric cancer, I noticed something in her that I could not define for a very long time. The only words that I could think of describing her during her horrific cancer treatments were courageous, strong, bravery, kindness, happy, content and some other words. She internalized, lived and breathed what I tried to become like for decades. I did not recognize, during most of her short life, that she embodied a mindset that is thousands of years old and that is one of the reasons why it took me years to create this book that will shed some more light on Juliana as well as the thousands and thousands of other children who have fought pediatric cancer. Juliana Carver - The Stoic Little Girl is a reflective and deeply human account of a child who faced repeated hardship with calm resolve and unwavering presence.
