Overview

Joyride is the first of many Beantown Pals stories. Bucky and Betty break Cheif Spark's rules and take Laddie the Fire Truck on a wild ride through Beantown. Peer pressure prevails, promises are broken, Beantown's citizens are upset, and lessons are learned along the way. Beantown Pals is a children's storybook series. The two main characters, Bucky and Betty live in the fairytale village of Beantown, a world inhabited by descendants of Jack's magic beans. The residents ride and race in motor spoons, live in fear of Jack's Giant, and battle the forces of good and evil that wish to destroy their little village. Fun loving Betty and serious, responsible Bucky are often at odds but remain the best of friends. Every adventure contains thrills, chills, and laughter. Without each other, life would be a bore.

Tom Hayes is an author, comedian, and storyteller. In 1986, he won 'Showtime Cable's Funniest Person Award' and spent 45 years performing as a headliner in comedy clubs and national conventions. In 2014, he and comedian Tammy Pooler shared their talents to create over one hundred and fifty comedy audio stories for the children's property, 'Beantown Pals, the Adventures of Bucky and Betty. The recorded stories serve as the source of the Beantown Pals books-current and future. He knows, firsthand, 'Laughter is the best medicine', and his passion is to share his gift to bring joy and meaningful lessons to families world-wide. Tammy Pooler is a dynamic author, devoted mother, grandmother, and wife, as well as a successful business owner with diverse ventures. With over a decade of stand-up comedy experience, she captivates audiences everywhere with her humor and storytelling. A published author of children's books, Tammy shares her creativity with young readers and expresses her artistic talents through various mediums. As the head photographer for the largest wedding company in Maine, she captures the joy of special moments. Balancing her career and homemaking, Tammy thrives on creativity and inspires those around her with her vibrant personality and dedication to family values. Born and raised in South Africa, Lizette Duvenage moved to Edmonton, Canada in 2011. An artist and illustrator of children's books and educational textbooks, she has illustrated several books for Oxford University Press in South Africa, as well as Cambridge University Press and Maskew Miller & Longman. In 2010, she was awarded Best Illustration at the Maskew Miller & Longman Literature awards. In 2013 she had two children's books she wrote and illustrated published by Fantasi Publishers in South Africa. She was chosen by J.N. Paquet Books Ltd as the new illustrator of the second generation of J.N. Paquet's popular children's books series ""The Book of The Animals"" as well as the ""Mely and Bela"" series. For the last 15 years, Lizette has been working as a freelance illustrator and recently joined Wooden Leg Productions, LLC as Chief Creative Officer and partial owner. That event followed her creation of a revolutionary buildable/convertible/patent pending toy vehicle for the Beantown Pals toy series.As a mother and wife, she is dedicated to creating quality stories and toys with extraordinary play value for children, families, and society as a whole.
