Overview

This arrangement was conceived of as a concert opener for a quintet concert. It begins in a celebratory manner and, after two statements of the melody, the tune is stated in augmented fragments in the low brass. The rhythms often alternate between duple and triple groupings, adding to the interesting feel. This was recorded on the CD Christmas Postcards from the HoodleBug Brass---recorded by the faculty brass quintet at IUP (Indiana University of Pennsylvania). (4:00)
