She serves as treasurer of the Glade Community Historical Society and owns a one-room schoolhouse that is listed on the National Historic Register. She enjoys traveling, fly fishing, and writing. She has written three children's books, is a resident writer for her monthly community magazine, ""Stroll Pinnacle,"" and each week publishes a blog of encouragement on her website and on Facebook.
