Author Information

Theodore Mann has devoted most of his time and energy over the past six decades to Circle in the Square Theatre. He has produced and/or directed more than 250 plays at Circle, including 19 productions of O'Neill. In 1963, Paul Libin became co-producer with Mann, a partnership that continues to this day. Still actively overseeing Circle and its celebrated theatre school, he also finds time to direct plays - most recently The Irish Play and Chekhov's The Bear and The Proposal - as well as opera. He currently is working with Joziah Longo of The Circus Band on a musical adaptation of Aesop's Fables. He grew up in Brooklyn, and was admitted to the Bar in New York State. He was married to one of the leading sopranos of the 20th century, the late Patricia Brooks, and has two sons and five grandchildren. He resides in New York.
