Journey to Xiajiang

Overview

Journey to Xiajiang: An Investigation Record of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area along the Yangtze is a news-oriented book that authentically documents the history before and after Chongqing's establishment as a municipality and the large-scale Three Gorges migration. In 1996, on the eve of Chongqing's assumption of direct jurisdiction over Wanzhou, Fuling, and Qianjiang, these areas were placed under the administration of Chongqing. Xiang Zeying, a member of the editorial committee and director of the editorial department, and Luo Chengyou, a reporter, traveled thousands of miles to visit Xiajiang, covering 22 districts and counties, as well as some industrial and mining enterprises, successively launched the ""Journey to Xiajiang"" column to portray the economic development and social landscape of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area. The authors later introduced large-scale documentary reports such as Surging Waves of Xiajiang and numerous reservoir area investigation reports, all of which are included in this manuscript.
