"This study delves into the profound and enduring impacts of child sexual abuse, specifically incest, on an individual's psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being. Occurring within dysfunctional family systems, incest disrupts the formation of identity and self-image, leading to significant challenges in faith development and the perception of God's image. The biblical teaching that humanity is created in God's image is a central focus, with an emphasis on understanding this truth through the body's experiences. For sexually abused children, whose bodies become sites of violation and oppression, a concept termed ""deicide"" unfolds-symbolizing the death of one's understanding of God. Despite the trauma, the body remains revelatory of religious truth. The study examines the parallels between the experience of incest and the theological framework of the death, descent, and resurrection of Jesus. On Good Friday, the various deaths encountered by Jesus find resonance with the loss of safety, innocence, and bodily integrity experienced by incest survivors. Subsequently, Holy Saturday is explored as a space of liminality and mystery, reflective of the journey through a chasm of darkness."
