More than two years have passed since the launch of Goods & Service Tax (GST) in India, early days jitters have given way to general acceptance that this may not be the most perfect single tax system in India but it is working. There are many issues that remain to be addressed, but the fact that some of the knotty once have been resolved by the GST Council, gives rise to confidence that these will be sorted out.Inflation has not gone up, there is single national market and one tax in the country. GST revenue has gone up by 9% but biggest damper is the compliance through GSTN. Delay in refunds against export, some major fraud in input tax credit has also been detected.
