Overview

The purpose of writing this book is fourfold.  Firstly, to show the foolishness of the ego, or false self, that I and most of us identify with and believe is “Me”. Secondly, to show the importance of teaching Human Values to children to enable them to reach their potential in life and be happy. Thirdly, to relate my experiences with my guru, Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Fourthly, to empower women to believe in themselves and their capabilities, and realize they can make a difference to the world.

Carole Alderman grew up in post-war London. She had a happy childhood then a busy professional life in the City. Life was not without difficulties however - a troubled first marriage and the distressing trials of bringing up children as a working single mother - but she overcame the obstacles, remarried and settled comfortably.  From the minute Carole met Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the head of an Ashram in Puttaparthi, India, she knew her life would change. She redirected her energies to developing understanding of Sai Baba’s spiritual lessons. When he died in 2011, she and her husband devoted themselves to spreading the important lessons of Education in Human Values (EHV), travelling widely to support educational programmes internationally, and carrying on the living message.
