Journey Through the Valley: One Man's Story of Learning to Trust Jesus with Work, Faith, and Family

Overview

""David Brenner's book demonstrates that God is with us at all times, even in the most difficult situations. He has a clear and engaging writing style while offering thoughtful commentary."" -Readers' Favorite, 5 Stars ""...a faith-based book [with] frequent references to accurate Scripture verses that continuously remind the reader of where and on whom the focus is meant to be, while pairing them with relevant life events to showcase their validity. He displays his credibility as a true memoirist by presenting detailed and unique experiences."" -Reader Views, 5 Stars What if who we become is more important than what we achieve? In Journey Through the Valley, David shares a deeply personal and honest memoir of spiritual growth forged in the crucible of pressure, performance, and pain. As a high-achieving executive, devoted husband, and father, David once believed that success meant constantly climbing the ladder, staying composed, and always being ""enough."" But beneath the polished surface was a man unraveling under the impossible weight of modern expectations. With vulnerability and insight, David recounts how his pursuit of success at any cost left him weary and disconnected-from his purpose, his family, and even himself. It was only when he hit the wall of burnout that he began to discover a new path-one shaped not by striving, but by surrender. Through failures, doubts, and unexpected grace, Journey Through the Valley is a story of transformation. It's an invitation to rethink what it means to truly live well-not by the standards of today's culture, but by the quiet call of Jesus: ""Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."" This book is for anyone who has forgotten their ""why"" in the whirlwind of doing, for those exhausted from chasing a version of success that never satisfies. David's journey reminds us that even in our lowest valleys, we are never alone.

Author Information

David Brenner was the first employee at a startup that grew to become a publicly traded company with a $1B+ market cap. As Chief Commercial Officer, David played an integral role in building global strategic partnerships and raising capital for the company. After stepping away from the fast-paced startup world, he co-founded Brenner Innovation Group with his father to help early-stage companies grow with purpose. Now based in Central Florida, David focuses on faith, family, and supporting others on their journey to success. Married since 2013, David and his wife, Kelley, are raising their three children-Jacob, Isaac, and Lily-alongside their two dogs, Nala and Biscuit. When he's not working or with family, David finds renewal in nature, most recently on a solo backpacking trip through Zion National Park. Journey Through the Valley is his literary debut, offering a powerful reflection on perseverance, purpose, and spiritual growth.
