Journey II: A Collection of Essays

Overview

Journey II is Adrienne Cannon's third book of personal essays. In this new collection, she reveals a rich panorama of experiences following the emotional adjustment to a solitary life after the death of her husband. Cannon shares observations from solo trips to various countries, the challenges of traveling with energetic tour groups, and her appreciation of the multiple cultures she discovers. She also reflects on the complications of daily life, navigating the commute in a large urban area in contrast with her simple suburban life where she can watch the squirrels and ravens cavort on her patio, and those humorous moments as her body ""talks"" to her during the aging process. Journey II is an insightful snapshot of a time of life that many readers will find tender, vivid, and relatable.
