OverviewJonathan's Book of Abstract Designs for Coloring consists of thirty seven drawings created using an Art program called Artrage (TM). Similar drawings may be created using the Microsoft Paint feature on PCs. Each of the drawings in the book is a sort of meditation. Most patterns are simple and repetitive, such as squares, circles and triangles. One drawing involves the use of both hands. I used one hand to draw the basic pattern while looking away from the computer and then added a few finishing touches with the other hand. In addition, there are whimsical drawings, such as those created in the kawaii (Japanese for cute ) style, as well as those of the Zentangle (TM) variety. Drawing and coloring can be highly therapeutic and I have mentioned this benefit on the back cover. In addition, there is the suggestion for the reader to create his or her own coloring books. Such an activity may be rewarding for just about any age group.
