The Author: Stephanie Dennison is a graduate of King's College London and the University of Liverpool, where she completed her doctorate on Joaquim Nabuco in 1996. She has published on the Brazilian Belle Epoque, National Identity and Brazilian Film. She currently teaches Portuguese and Brazilian Studies at the University of Leeds.
