OverviewJesus Crucified in Palestine/A Crazy Girl Named Nahed Jesus Crucified in Palestine deals with the document issued by the Vatican Council in 1965 stating that the contemporary Jews are not responsible for crucifying Jesus. The Egyptian Church considered it an attempt to change sacred texts to serve the political goals of Israel. The author has held an imaginary trial to investigate the event of crucifying Jesus in order to define who crucified Him: Pilate, the Roman ruler of Judea, or Ciaiphas and the council of priests, and to see in the light of the Holy Bible and contemporary circumstances if the burden of the crime can be inherited in their sons. A Crazy Girl Named Nahed asserts that madness is the spirit of the age, it is not the nature of the people. The play tackles the theme of the unmarried or single woman. The writer here is a man. He has his lead role Nahed who is supposed to be the crazy girl. However, he probes deeper into her eccentricity and her obsessive desire to get married. The writer's choice of subject is interesting. He challenges one of the accepted ideas of society that is based on the premise that unmarried women are eccentric. He shows insight when he insists on the single womans right to freedom and to choose her husband. His dialogue is smooth and witty. - Nahed Naguib, Critic Full Product DetailsAuthor: Nasim MijalliPublisher: Outskirts Press Imprint: Outskirts Press Dimensions: Width: 21.60cm , Height: 1.20cm , Length: 14.00cm Weight: 0.272kg ISBN: 9781432730444ISBN 10: 1432730444 Pages: 210 Publication Date: 22 July 2009 Audience: General/trade , General Format: Paperback Publisher's Status: Active Availability: In Print This item will be ordered in for you from one of our suppliers.
