OverviewThe first in a series of titles drawing on the extensive archives of the Palestine Exploration Fund, this work brings together photographs which capture a moment in history. The power and clarity of these images, and the accompanying commentary by Dr Shimon Gibson allow the reader to revisit a world long disappeared. The book is structured around a map of Jerusalem dating from the start of the 20th century. The reader is taken on a tour through the city to revisit the streets and their inhabitants as they were in the 19th century.
