Author Information

Amy Oden Simpson taught English for 20 years at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College, where she now serves as director of public relations. As an accomplished playwright, she has written and staged several historical plays, mystery dinner plays, and plays for children. She lives in beautiful Cumberland Gap, Tennessee, with her two children, ages 9 and 19. Their challenge with autism inspired Jeremy Plays the Blues, Ms. Simpson's first picture book. Jeannice Jones Sanders was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate with a bachelor's degree in visual art education (K-12). She then returned to the Memphis area and taught art for six years. Ms. Sanders now resides in Mississippi with her husband and their first newborn-daughter Olivia. Lisa Soland comes to the literary world as a renowned playwright with over 50 publications by Samuel French, Inc., Smith & Kraus, Applause Books, and Dramatic Publishing. Her children's books include Thump, Somebunny to Love, The Truth About God's Rainbow, The Boy and The Bagel Necklace, and God's Hands & Feet. Her Christmas books, The Unmade Moose and The Christmas Tree Angel have become an annual reading tradition for many families. Ms. Soland teaches playwriting at Maryville College and enjoys traveling the United States leading various writing workshops.
