Jenny and her Superbrain Focus

Overview

Meet Jenny-a creative, big-hearted girl with a brain that never sits still. Jenny's world is full of color, laughter, and a little bit of chaos. Her backpack is stuffed with crumpled papers, her shoes hide in the silliest places, and her thoughts race from cat facts to homework to lost socks in the blink of an eye. No matter how hard Jenny tries, sometimes her homework goes missing, and her mind wanders in class, making her feel embarrassed and out of place. But with the help of a caring teacher, her loving family, and her purring cat Baylee, Jenny discovers that her busy brain is actually her superpower. This heartwarming and humorous story invites readers into the life of a child who thinks differently. Jenny's journey will resonate with anyone who has ever felt a little misunderstood or struggled to fit in. Through moments of frustration, bursts of imagination, and small victories, Jenny learns that being different isn't just okay-it's something to celebrate. Perfect for young and old alike, this book shines a light on neurodiversity and self-acceptance. Jenny's story reminds us all that every brain is unique, and every child has their own special magic to share with the world.

Reviews

Jenny and her Superbrain Focus is a story that should be read in every elementary classroom. It's insightful for those who might have this superpower and may not know it yet, and it's educational for those who don't know what it's like to live with an ADHD mind. This would be a great subject to share with early learners to help them have patience and understanding for those who are different from themselves. Rachel Allen This book was really well written and honestly just beautiful. It touched on so many things my daughter experiences, and it put them into words and a story she could actually understand and connect with, which meant a lot to me. I also loved the vocabulary-it was advanced without feeling overwhelming-and the illustrations were so detailed, adding so much to the story. The first time we read it, it really touched my heart. Definitely one we'll keep coming back to. Erika Sanders What stood out most to me was how effectively the story connects with readers through its message of self-acceptance and understanding. It presents different ways of thinking in a positive, encouraging light, which makes the story feel both meaningful and relatable. It also gently reinforces the idea that it's okay to be yourself, even if your mind works differently from others. Stefanie Cloud I like how the language is appropriate for the audience, even though serious issues of complicated origin are discussed. Many adults don't have a clear understanding of the challenges faced by children with attention difficulties. The first book that I read that adequately captured their struggles was Joey Pigza Swallowed the Key (Gantos), a National Book Award winner. The second one was this one. Jenny and her Superbrain Focus (Woodall) is sure to be a winner among teachers and parents alike. Dr. Gwynne Ellen Ash
