Overview

Jayel: Hands of a Healer is a story about a family and the assumptions they made following tragedy. The story takes place in a fictional solar system, where inhabitants of the planet Orim developed technology to terraform neighboring planets. The people share one government, plentiful land, and extensive resources. Further, inhabitants benefit from the gifts of The Endowed, members of an elite society who use their special abilities (including wisdom, strength, and telepathy) to solve social, intellectual, and environmental problems. The story follows medical student Jayel, who recently suspected her father murdered his brother's wife seventeen years ago. Both brothers are highly respected Endowed members. The heroine joins her uncle's search to uncover the truth. The story involves travel to planets, love and betrayal, neuroscience, battles, and telepathic abilities. It culminates with an Elundrite, trial by the Endowed, where the truth is revealed and the murderer brought to justice. Fans of Star Trek, Star Wars, or Doctor Who will enjoy this story where the characters' personal conflicts and relationships are forefront against cultural backgrounds of these fictional planets.
