She read French and German at Nottingham University, then retured to London to take up a post with the BBC, and did a postgraduate course in Journalism at City University. After a congenital condition led to the loss of her sight she became interested in clinical aromatherapy used in conjunction with massage techniques and the use of essential oils to treat a variety of health problems and now runs a practice in London.
