Was the author of Pride and Prejudice really a poor, uneducated woman with no experience of sex or marriage? Nicholas Ennos was educated at Hampton School and Leeds University, where he studied modern languages. He qualified as a solicitor, and lives in Surrey, a county which has close ties to Eliza de Feuillide, the true author of the novels of Jane Austen. In this book he uses his linguistic knowledge, legal analysis and local knowledge to explode the myth of Jane Austen and reveal for the first time the full background behind the composition of the world famous novels which bear her name.
