Jamie's Way

Overview

Rugged determination often leads to establishing a family ranch scratched into the dry soil of the remote plains of Western Oklahoma. When you drive by or fly over and see a vast estate peppered with windmills, cattle, oil derricks, and oil tanks, you can bet not one single family found those possessions easily obtained, and they are more challenging to keep. The families struggle with drought, volatile oil, gas, cattle prices, short-tempered mortgage companies, and local banks to hang on to enough acres to survive and maintain a quiet and simple life. Over a hundred years ago, Amy's family staked a claim to one hundred sixty acres of grass and sand. Above their slice of the Washita River, they dug a hole to live in and stayed there to build a farm ranch and, eventually, a beautiful home. With such determination comes deep roots and a sentimental commitment to pass the land and the legacy to future generations. Amy and her mother, Jamie, shared the stoic values of the family legacy and were committed to building and passing along the family estate. However, Amy is tragically left alone on the ranch with her father, Walter Mason, who has plans to sell it all. For years, Amy managed to navigate her father's efforts, but things changed when Walter discovered Amy's first love, Evan. Amy is forced into a dangerous legal and physical strategy twist to outsmart her father and keep her family ranch. The stakes get steeper when Amy realizes that Evan is in danger. As Amy maneuvers and sacrifices to save her land, she finds a new circle of friends to call family and meets an old Ranger who has loved and watched over Amy's grandmother from a distance for almost sixty years. Follow along as Amy battles to save her family legacy and to protect the new loves of her life.
