OverviewJames is a labradoodle that lives on a farm with three other dogs, Biscuit a maltese, Snickers a terrier, and Sammy a basset hound. James does silly things like rolling in something smelly, chasing squirrels. He even pooped in a woman's shoes because she was mean to him. All of the dogs like to try to take human food off of the table. When the dogs take food from the table they would end up out in the barn with no food. One day a wise old great dane named Shephard comes to visit. He likes to play with the dogs. When it comes time for the humans to eat, the dogs are tempted to eat human food. Shephard warns them it is not a good idea. Snickers completely ignores Shephard and goes for the food. He's able to grab a sandwich before his owner takes the food away and Snickers ends up in the barn. Biscuit says loudly to everyone that she will not eat the food. But she doesn't have the will power and immediately tries to take food from a little girl. She ends up in the barn. Sammy doesn't take any food at first, but he starts to complain about how hungry he is and the food looks so good. He tries to take food and ends up in the barn. James listens to Shephard and does not get in trouble. Because he was so good the humans give him some table food. The book follows the book of Mark, Chapter 4, verses 3 to 8.
