Overview

With the opening of JadeWeserPort in Wilhelmshaven in autumn 2012 a once-in-a-century project is going into operation. By capturing aesthetic snapshots of the largest deep-water port during ist genesis these portraits by the photographer Heinrich Hecht reveal the beauty of 360 hectares of reclaimed land - sometimes not always at the first glance.

The selection and composition of the shapes, colors and vistas of the photographs direct the eye to the signs of change, with their interplay creating a very special portrait of this major infrastructure project.
