This humorous fable is based on one of King Solomon's proverbs. May Jacqueline's experience with pride help those who read it, or have it read to them, walk more gracefully through life. Linda McFerren is a retired English and special education teacher. A gifted storyteller, Linda has taught in the San Francisco Bay Area, Southern Oregon, and Tanzania, East Africa. In Nairobi, Kenya she had the opportunity to be kissed by a giraffe. ""The tongue felt like sandpaper, but what did I expect from an animal whose tongue strips leaves off acacia trees?"" Illustrator Lauretta Jenkins was an artist whose drawings were used on educational television. She lived on a small ranch in Northern California where she tended to her chickens, ducks, goats and horses.
