OverviewThe nonfiction of Jack London is a viable surrogate for his autobiography. This body of his work objectively presents his views on race, politics and the opposite sex. His beliefs in these areas have often been distorted with out of context quotes or misinterpretations based on his fiction. Whereas London wrote his fiction for financial gain, his nonfiction clearly reflects his social conscience. This collection of his nonfiction writing presents some of his rarest work (not available elsewhere) which provides insight into both the writer and the man. This second edition adds a previously unpublished essay on class distinctions in Mexico; a book review exposing corruption in labor unions; and a book introduction explaining London's resignation from the Socialist Party.
