Author Information

Eliza has always been drawn to stories-both living them and telling them. As a child, she earned the nickname ""Jabberwalky"" from her grandfather, who teased, ""all you do is walk and talk!"" At home she was animated and endlessly chatty, but out in the world she often turned quiet and shy. Years later, she now sees the same delightful contradiction in her own daughter-a spirited three-year-old who keeps the family laughing, yet tucks behind her parents when faced with something new. That very dynamic sparked the inspiration for Eliza's debut book, Jabberfin.Raised on a small Vermont farm, Eliza grew up with a love of both the written word and the outdoors. She studied psychology and English at St. Lawrence University, and her career took her from Washington, DC-where she worked in PR, event planning, and international education-to San Francisco, where she earned her Master's and got into the tech world as a user experience designer and product manager, blending creativity with strategy. But writing has always been her truest passion. Whether she's brainstorming new story ideas, crafting playful characters with her daughter, or tackling an ambitious home renovation project, Eliza is happiest when creating something new. She lives in South Burlington, Vermont with her husband and daughter.
