Table of ContentsReviewsABA 2025 Best Book for Young Readers ""A pleasing, humorous read-aloud...as pink and frothy as cotton candy.""--Kirkus Reviews ""One of the sweetest surprises of 2024 was Itty Bitty Betty Blob, a bouncy tale about a monster who defies social convention by embracing such non-beastly things as rainbows and dancing through dandelions. Betty makes a welcome return in this charming, completely affable sequel in which Betty not only surprises her mom and others with her life choices, but herself. Our non-conformist heroine must choose a school extra-curricular activity. She eyes diving, but her mom warns her about how hard that is. So Betty chooses drama class, and, well, never before has stage fright been rendered with such oozy anxiety (standing o to Micah Player for capturing Betty's blobby meltdown with such effectiveness). Lombardo skillfully guides the reader through the story's many beats as Betty decides to defy concerns and tackle diving after all. Although the reader becomes fairly certain that she will emerge triumphant, even after many failed attempts that result in belly flops, the story maintains an agreeable amount of suspense up to the final triumphant moment. It's a joy being back in Betty's world and company.""--Mr. Brian's Picture Book Picks ""Micah Player's illustrations are a visual treat. The contrast of moody grays with bursts of Betty's bright pink brings her world to life, making each page a delightful dive into color and character. Itty Bitty Betty Blob Makes a Splash is a heartwarming tale about embracing individuality, perfect for kids ages 4 to 8. It's a reminder that sometimes the best way to stand out is to be yourself, even if you're a little blob in a big pond.""--One Minute Book Reviews ""Betty Blob is an inspiration. A perfect story of trusting your instincts and celebrating your talents.""--Rachel Trainum, Dog-Eared Books ""Betty Blob is back and this time she's joining the diving club! I continue to be obsessed with Betty, she is so cute and so brave and watching her be herself is a true joy. She can do no wrong!""--The Novel Neighbor ""What a fun, unscary monster book with a great message about being yourself and not trying to do things just like evryone else does... Creative drawings will entertain young readers and listeners, and the theme of being who you want to be comes through clearly but without feeling too pedantic. Love this one and recommend it hightly for kindergarten through grade 3.""--Hallsville Intermediate School, Hallsville, TX ""Betty Blob follows her heart to a splashing success. Fun illustration with blobs of color, especially pink blobs. Nice end papers, too.""--HearthFire Books, Evergreen, CO Author InformationConstance Lombardo began drawing when she was 10 years old.
