Overview

Giving children the foundation of the WHY behind numbers and letters in a direct manner is the best way to guarantee that they will grasp the concepts easily and progress rapidly, not only to competency but to excellence and intelligence. Wise parents who want to raise successful children will start at home before kindergarten to give their children a good foundation in mathematical concepts, patterning, and the WHY behind the math. What better gift could a parent give a child? Only parents can turn education around for their children, and they must start at home. Yes, even busy working parents. If I did it with a full-time job and 14 children, anyone can do it. Let me show you how.

Author Information

Shannah B Godfrey has worked as a chemist in the Aerospace and Tactical Missile Industry, and as a project manager in the Armaments and Ammunitions Industry. She is currently an author of children's phonics books. She developed her own unique method of phonics instruction to teach her own 14 children how to read before kindergarten. Now she passes her wisdom and methods to other parents and educators through her wonderful books and flash cards. A Pretty Girl Was Alpha Bette, is the first book in her series. A Funny Boy Was Prince River, and A Nutty Man Was Uncle Upton, are next. Even children with mild learning disabilities have had no problem with reading after learning The Godfrey Method. Although she has a published scientific paper and several internal papers, Mrs. Godfrey finds writing for children much more rewarding. Godfrey also has vast experience in the areas of adoption issues, working mothers, single parenting, twins, early childhood learning, foster parenting, divorce, death of a child, grieving, non-traditional returning college students, home schooling, surviving abuse, childhood bipolar disorder, ADHD, making it in the man's world, mentoring middle school-age girls, and large families, as well as reconciling science with religion and solid rocket motor chemistry.
